March 10, 2011
Spring has come to my garden, and all of the plants and flowers are slowly stretching their leaves and tendrils up from their beds to greet the morning sunshine. In fact, due to an usually warm February, I am even getting some flowers now that normally don’t bloom until fall. The truth is, the garden doesn’t care that it’s not March 21st, or that our clocks haven’t yet been set forward an hour. It’s not a date or a time, it’s a feeling, and there is definitely that something fresh and hopeful in the air that tells us that it is, indeed, spring.
So, without further ado, here is a little photo tour of what’s happening in my garden right now:
Blooming Ranunculus along the hedge
My Magnolia tree even bloomed a bit earlier this year. I can’t say that I mind.
I love the beautiful fragrance of freesia blossoms
Delicate Mid Pride Peach blossoms
And the best thing about having such a vibrant, blossoming garden is getting to make impromptu, home-grown bouquets for friends. Happy Spring!
