As always, I love to look to the garden for holiday inspiration. Natural décor brings a beautiful Christmas look indoors that feels fresh and beautiful…and well, natural. I’m currently on a wreath kick. I believe my current fondness for these circles of greens goes deeper than just holiday cheer. Wreaths symbolize everlasting life, and we’ve had a year where this topic has new meaning.

It’s not difficult to make your own wreath. There’s something so special about a homemade wreath welcoming guests at your door. It’s a great way to use greenery from your backyard, because in our zone it’s a good time to prune. Depending on what you have on hand, feel free to mix in some store bought cuttings too.
For the wreath below, I spotted some pittosporum crassifolium in need of some trimming.
This rosemary needed a hard prune, too.
Here, I lined up my greens, forged from the yard and some add-ins from Florabundance.
This is a wonderful holiday activity that feels creative and useful, but doesn’t involve flour, butter or sugar. The best part, you end up with something lovely like this to hang in your home.
