I’ve been quiet the last couple of weeks because I’m smack in the middle of prepping for a few special events. When I said yes to each event months ago it all seemed fine and dandy, now I have events tripping over each other and I just might be a little bit on the crazy train.
I ask myself that same old question, “Val, what were you thinking?” For the mean time — I’m just going to chalk it up to bad planning! All that’s left to do is dig in, make a list(s) and have some fun.
I’m honored and excited to be a part of the second annual Santa Barbara Food and Wine Weekend this Saturday, April 18th at Bacara Resort and Spa. It is going to be an incredible weekend of events, all centered on the inspiration, talent and spirit of Julia Child.
My session is a fun cooking demonstration teaching three Julia recipes that every home chef should have in their repertoire; Soup au Pistou, Pate a Choux and an easy and delectable Rolled Omelet.
We will of course have sample bites of all three dishes, along with splashes of my friend Eric Railsback’s wonderful wine, Lieu Dit. I’m honored to be participating alongside so many culinary powerhouses. My hope (and prayer) is to do Julia proud. I’d love for you to join me in the fun — you can sign up here.
Cheers to Julia!
