When arranging flowers, my starting point can come from so many places. I get inspiration from unusual flowers in nature, the contrast of colors on a hillside, walking through town spotting beautiful Moorish tile in the most unexpected places and sometimes a bouquet can even start from a dress I spy online while having a fantasy shopping spree. The inspiration for this bouquet for a friend’s birthday came, in part, from this Etro shift I found at Net-a-Porter. I think shifts are the perfect dress for home entertaining and this one lives in my dream closet.
I’m currently hooked on purple and orange hues, so this translated into purple Mokara orchids, Purple clematis, Orange Star of Beth, Pink Helleborus, Allium, Ranunculus in Victoria-orange and Black Berries in the arrangement. Who knows where inspiration will strike next?
