Chatting with my girlfriend, who also happens to be an esthetician, I complained about how my skin lately was feeling rather lackluster. She suggested mixing up this mask from a few items in my pantry. Being a beauty product junkie, I was skeptical that these humble ingredients could compete with my drawer full of Cos Bar impulse purchases.
My doubts were laid to rest though; this honey mask is fantastic, and it really works! I swear I’ve never felt more moisturized in all my life. It’s inexpensive, made from ingredients that I can pronounce (that’s tur-mer-ic), and I’m looking forward to concocting this with my girls at their next sleepover. Before using, just make sure no one is allergic to any of the ingredients. When in doubt, test it out on a small patch of skin before you slather it all over.
BEE-utiful! (Couldn’t resist that one).
1 teaspoon Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon honey
½ teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon Turmeric (optional)
Combine ingredients and smooth over face. Leave for 5 minutes. Use an old wash cloth to remove the mask, and then wash it instantly.
Note: Turmeric is often dubbed a wonder product because of its ability to fight free radicals, anti-oxidant properties and ability to even out your skin tone. However, it is an optional ingredient because it can and may temporarily stain.
